Gibson Steps Beach
This image was taken just prior to sunset, as the sun was about to be lost behind the cliffs on Gibson steps beach. Gibson steps is a very picturesque beach in Victoria Australia just off the Great Ocean Road. Its name is derived from a steep set of stairs that has been cut into the cliff line.
I had some time to spare before the sun was due to set over the 12 Apostles so I decided to walk around on Gibson Steps beach. with the tide turning I walked to the northern end in search of a nice composition. After getting wet with rogue waves which threatening my camera gear. I quickly turned back and started to walk back to the steps. Turning to look behind me I saw this image, With golden light illuminating the sea spray. I was fortunate as the light faded after a few minutes. I like how my footsteps lead the viewer around the beach to this amazing light.
